Anita Sidler is an artist and art educator who finds inspiration everywhere in the natural environment. For several years she devoted her work mainly to printmaking. Her practice expanded to include ceramics while she was completing her MA for K–12 Art and Art Education at Columbia University’s Teachers College. Her teaching degree follows a BA in Art & Design from the University of Michigan and a diploma from Interlochen Arts Academy. Now her work explores the forms and functions of nature through mixed media that include ceramics, papier-mâché, painting, drawing, and assemblage. She makes and teaches art in New York’s Hudson Valley.
